In 2023, en collaboration avec was contracted by Soulful Synergy LLC to direct a new workforce development program– New Rochelle Forward. Presented by Soulful Synergy and The City of New Rochelle, the local and minority-focused vocational training program was designed to build the capacity of individuals to effectively compete for the opportunities created by the development boom in the City.

As the training provider, Soulful Synergy offered certifications, hands-on training and job placement to community members, and worked with a network of partners to provide supportive services to participants. Key deliverables for the Director role included:

• Supervising the planning and coordination of the program and its staff

• Creating systems of efficiency for program and project management, including budgets, payroll, etc.

• Implementing HR policies and building positive relations within the team and with external parties, including funders

• Establishing communication channels between teaching and administrative staff to maintain a smooth flow of operations

• Advocating for students by upholding the importance of communication and delivering on promises throughout their engagement

• Creating templates and processes for data capture, reporting and supportive service delivery while respecting varied capacity and day-to-day realities of team members

At the end of the project:

• More than 50 participants were trained during a 6 month period, with over a quarter successfully placed in employment within 3 months of program completion

• Direct service and admin staff developed a better understanding of each others experiences and challenges, and operated more seamlessly as a unified team
