creating a culture of connectivity at a remote tech consulting firm

Project Management
People & Culture

The Challenge

At a lean, mostly remote tech consulting firm, building authentic connection among colleagues was proving difficult. Physical distance and an informal “culture” rooted in shared movie tastes made it hard for newer employees to feel a sense of belonging. The company lacked a scalable culture, which clouded the experience of new hires and demonstrated that alongside the company’s rapid growth was a growing need for a more inclusive and intentional community.

The Solution

en collaboration avec launched a Women in Tech affinity group, bringing a grassroots initiative to life with the goal of fostering connection, support, and professional growth for group members. We helped move the idea from concept to action by:

  • Developing a clear identity for the group, including its mission, core values, and an initial meeting structure to support co-creation and participant ownership

  • Engaging leadership by aligning the group’s goals with company values and securing executive support for long-term sustainability

  • Driving inclusive participation by proactively reaching out to colleagues and ensuring the group welcomed women, non-binary, and gender non-conforming (GNC) team members

The Impact

The Women in Tech group launched as an official company affinity group, with a majority of eligible employees joining as active members. It quickly became a trusted space for candid conversation, mutual encouragement, and career development. Participants reported feeling more connected, supported, and invested in both their roles and the broader company mission.

By building the operational foundation for a thriving internal community, en collaboration avec helped make culture scalable—even across long-distance teams.
